This painting explores the idea of masking and the ways we sometimes hide or alter parts of ourselves in order to feel accepted, understood, or liked.

There’s something complicated about the masks we create. Sometimes they protect us. Sometimes they help us navigate the world. But over time, they can also make us wonder which parts of ourselves are real, and which parts we’ve learned to show others.
